What's new

Disregard Mirotic, Aquire Favors!

I think the Jazz will resign him. Money for people like Favors is scarce. Can't create his own shot and can't shoot threes. Good system guy and strong defender when healthy, which is hit and miss. If he was worth much, the Jazz would have traded him. Has a good attitude, but really needs more quickness and/or outside shooting to command the 12mil+ you are talking about. The really stupid contracts aren't happening much now, and money will be spent smarter moving forward. I think 8-10 is what he'll get.

I keep thinking of how it was later in his career that Sap developed into a 3 point shooter. Favs has clearly been working on it and has a nice stroke to begin with. Not out of the question for him to become good enough at corner 3's that teams have to respect him. As for him loafing in the past, I think that is complete nonsense.

If you can keep him around for anything around what he is currently being paid I think it is a no brainer. Length of contract is a issue that will require some thought. I won't be surprised at all to see him get 15 a year from other teams.

I would not call Favors stroke nice. He is a pretty inconsistent shooter w/ his form.

I don't see any team with cap space seeing Favors as the difference maker worth 17-20M a year. I see Favors listening, getting similar or worse offers than he'll get from Utah and announcing how glad he is to stay here for 3 more years collecting 40M.

I would, especially for a big. The form of many bigs makes it almost impossible to extend their range. Not at all true with Favs. So maybe a relative thing but I would still call it nice.

#WasatchFront

Been waiting for them to both be healthy and these are the results.

Seriously my favorite highlight video of all time...... yes I even like it better than any Burks highlight video

The dunk at the 4:48 mark might be my all time favorite dunk from Rudy. I love that one.

Mine too. I post it every time it’s applicable. They’ve been really good together, and if they can avoid ego problems moving forward (which I think is likely) then they can be a force for years to come. I really hope that the team and Favors can find some way to continue the relationship beyond this season.

Favors shoots the ball on the way down half the time, which limits his range, which is why Quin doesnt let him shoot above the break 3's.

Huge props to whoever edited that video. Someone put a serious amount of effort into it.

That's a good video, had never seen it before.

Favors will never be my favorite player, his game isn't super exciting, and he doesn't have a ton of charisma. But he has a midrange shot that you have to somewhat respect, has great hands, and can run the pick and roll, and last night he was guarding Ginobili and his own man under the basket simultaneously in crunch time. Those are rare traits in a 6'10" guy. I hope he buys into what we are building here and decides to stick around.

I would, especially for a big. Inconsistency and stroke are not the same thing. The form of many bigs makes it almost impossible to extend their range. Not at all true with Favs. So maybe a relative thing but I would still call it nice.
