I followed and turned on notifications but then the account got deleted - was there anything after his last post about something big going down shortly?
Once you get into the draft itself I get trading guys to move up, but it doesn't make a lot of sense in a vacuum. If it's the difference between getting a guy you think can be a star and not, hard to be too upset about it.
I think I'm in the boat that many of us seem to be where I like the projected top 8 quite a bit better than what comes after. If worse comes to worse, any consensus on Wallace V Black? My impression is I'd be slightly happier with Black, but low certainty.
I don't really see future seconds as having a lot of value to us except to grease the wheels - we have so many firsts in the next decade it may be hard to roster almost any second rounders.
I'd be a little nervous about going much above his current number, but he could definitely continue to get better. Doesn't take a ton of shooting improvement to open up his drive game even more.
Black's defense is really really good, just nervous he can't dribble and pass well enough to run a team, and can't shoot well enough to play off ball. Obviously a high upside pick if his shot comes around.
I agree that they'll be quite a bit better, but I'd be pretty surprised if this moved them beyond the "in the playoffs" tier and into the "real contender" tier.
The lakers got better but not really better in a way that seems likely to matter. Deadline losers to me are NOP and Memphis, and maybe Lakers too honestly? They made a move that commits an asset and doesn't make them better enough.
