    Any chance corbin gets fired?

This. The only thing worse than not firing a bad coach is firing a bad coach and replacing him with another bad one. I wished the Jazz would've made a move earlier in the offseason but at this point let Ty ride out his contract. He either surprises the masses and becomes an average NBA head...

what was your favorite jazz year?

1996-97 - Dream season capped by finally breaking past the WCF and into the NBA Finals. 1997-98 & 1998-99 - Both seasons began with rare "anything less than a title is a disappointment" mentality and although they came up short throughout the season they were front & center on national stage...

The **OFFICIAL** Rudy Gobert is awesome how did he fall to the 27th pick? Thread

I highly doubt Gobert is going to be a 2-time DPOY and average over 4 bpg in his prime but he definitely has all the tools to become a very effective defensive presence and even as a young player could make an impact playing along the backline of a 2-3 zone in short stretches.

John Lucas III prefers the Jazz & looking like another contract/draft pick trade

Not really. Outside of getting the ball and starting his own 1-man fast break, Dee was mostly a 2 in college with Deron orchestrating the Illini offense in the halfcourt. In Brown's one season at point he struggled to convince anyone that he had the requisite PG-skills to be a starter at the...

    Remember

Rose was also an athletic freak who came into the league with a very streaky perimeter jumper. Burke looked out of rhythm and had some shots blocked/challenged - but he also missed a lot of the same shots he made consistently at Michigan - so I really believe he'll be fine heading into the...

Utah players All NBA first team.

-4 different Jazz players (Pete Maravich - 2, Truck Robinson -1, John Stockton - 2, Karl Malone - 11) have been named 1st-team All-NBA a total of 16 times. -Karl Malone was 2nd-team All-NBA twice and 3rd-team once to go along with his 11 1st-team honors.

    LIES! (Just keep reading)

It doesn't matter if any of the Core-4 are "superstars" or not (and I don't think they are). The point is they're talented young players with potential whose development has been marginalized by playing mediocre vets on a team that finished 9th in their conference. I don't believe in...

    Sign Jason Collins

Whether it's Jason Collins or Jimmer Fredette - don't bring in players because you're simply hoping for PR. Bring in players because they help your team. At this point Jason Collins is bad at basketball - so no thanks.

Bleacher Report Should Burn in Hell...

Whether they called Stockton&Malone the best or the worst, Bleacher Report has no credibility because virtually any joe-schmo can submit something and get it published. Despite paying Turner a ton of money to promote their site, they're still bottom-dwellers when it comes to sports and...

Worst Move? Drafting Hayward over George or Burks over Leonard?

Was drafting Hakeem over Jordan as large of a mistake as drafting Bowie over Jordan? It's not always a catastrophe if you don't get the best player in the draft as long as you get a good player who brings you success. George and Leonard are very good but I have yet to see any evidence Ty...

    Al Jefferson pulls a Malone

Both Karl Malone and Kris Humphries referred to "Utah" as a "city" after they were drafted by the Jazz. Dirk called SLC a "bad city" during the 2001 Playoffs.

    Junkyard Dog

The hilarious thing is after the loss in Milwaukee Ty actually referred to DeMarre as a "veteran" but apparently Carroll lost some of his experience and became a young guy again later in the season.

Official "Thank You Utah Jazz!" Thread

2012-13 Average Attendance of your 43-39 Jazz who came oh so close to that ever elusive 8-seed - 18,632 (6 sellouts). 2004-05 Average Attendance of the 26-win Jazz that nobody would "pay to attend" - 18,756 (7 sellouts). But what about after the fans realized that team sucked and wasn't...

Official "Thank You Utah Jazz!" Thread

That year was derailed with injuries and poor free agent signings, and as mentioned - the net result was Deron Williams. It's never an exact science, but I would be perfectly willing to take a 26-win season if I knew Utah would get a top-12 NBA player out of it. That said, I don't think...

When did you guys begin to lose interest in the Jazz?

A few signature moments in my mind: -It started when Jerry left but I still believed the Jazz still possessed the ability to maximize their potential up until late February 2012 in the final game before the all-star break. At that point I realized Ty wasn't simply a "young coach" - he was a...

    Hayward in big games

Probably because he doesn't get to handle the ball as much (and when he does he's mostly attacking from the wing rather than in the middle of the floor), doesn't get the same transition opportunities, and doesn't have the lanes and floor spacing because he's utilized more as a spot-up shooter...

I can't wait to hear Locke change his tune

Locke does such a great job that I hope if the Kings leave Sacramento the Sonics would try to bring Locke back to Seattle.

    Favors Would/Should be Most Improved/DPY

In his Jazz career, when Derrick Favors surpasses the 30-minute mark he averages 14.1 pts, 10.7 reb and 1.8 blk while shooting 52.4% from the field. The funny/sad/tragic part is that's happened only 16 times. He could win MIP (mainly from increased opportunity) and probably some consideration...

    Interesting SLCDunk Thread

Of course Portland deserves him. The Trailblazers decided 3-straight exits in the 1st-round was enough and they had the stones to trade Gerald Wallace in the final year of his contract (had PO) to build for the future and they hit a homerun with Lillard at 6. Portland has made alot management...
